Louth United F.C. are now defunct having run into severe financial difficulties. Louth Town FC have taken over the running of all junior sides and no senior terams now exist in the name of Louth United. Originally Founded in 1947, from a merger of Louth Nats and Louth Town, they did participate in the Sills & Betteridge Solicitors Lincolnshire Football League.
They were formerly members of the Northern Counties East League and the Central Midlands League Premier Division, but in 2007 dropped down to the Lincolnshire League.
Louth United were based at their new home, Marshlands which was developed and opened in 2008. Featuring new changing rooms, a club room and village hall the football is the heart of the Saltfleetby community. This facility is now boarded up.
It is highly unlikely that the name of Louth United will be seen in local football circles in Lincolnshire again.
